DDP-WI: “2020 Has Been Audited, Time To Rebuild Faith in Our System”

WISCONSIN – This past week has seen a renewed focus on the results of Wisconsin’s 2020 presidential election.  When asked if President Biden won in 2020, a leading candidate for governor stated “the problem with the 2020 election was the improprieties that happened.” Meanwhile, FBI officials continue to probe results that have been audited not only at the county and state level, but independently audited multiple times on top of a recount.

In response to this inaccurate rhetoric around election results from 6 years ago, the Democracy Defense Project – Wisconsin board released the following statement:

“The 2020 election has been reviewed, audited, and adjudicated over and over again during the past 6 years. The truth is simple: President Biden won Wisconsin in 2020. Had President Trump received the same votes as every Republican candidate for Congress in Wisconsin, he would have won the state. The continued use of taxpayer dollars to discover that President Trump simply did not earn the votes of enough Wisconsinites to win should infuriate voters in this state. It’s time to move on from 2020, rebuild faith in the system we have built to prevent fraud, and put our focus on improving that system in any way we can.”

The DDP-WI board includes former Attorney General JB Van Hollen, Former Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, Former. U.S. Rep. Scott Klug, and former Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate.
