Nashua, NH – New Hampshire voters continue to express strong confidence in the integrity of elections conducted in the Granite State, reinforcing the long-standing perception that New Hampshire’s election administration serves as a national model. However, voters remain deeply polarized along partisan lines when evaluating the legitimacy of recent presidential elections and potential election interference.
DDP New Hampshire co-chairs Democrat and former Ambassador Richard Swett and former Republican Congressman Charlie Bass stated, “Granite Staters across the political spectrum overwhelmingly approve and believe in our local election laws and process. Regardless of who you vote for or what party you may or may not belong to, our citizens have faith in our system of local control of elections. New Hampshire voters believe in New Hampshire elections and do not favor any federal intervention or control.”
The Democracy Defense Project (DDP) conducted a new statewide survey February 20–23, 2026 among 1,062 registered voters that shows that while voters overwhelmingly trust the way elections are run in New Hampshire, their views of elections at the national level are significantly more divided. Partisan identity continues to shape how voters interpret the outcomes of recent elections and whether they believe election irregularities occurred.
