Board of Bipartisan Michigan Democracy Defense Project applauds successful November 2025 election

Safeguards in place are working, local clerks and poll workers ensured safe, secure and fair elections across Michigan

LANSING, Mich. – Michigan’s bipartisan board of the Democracy Defense Project (DDP) today celebrated the well-run election that took place across the state on Tuesday, a fair, accurate and efficient election all Michiganders can be proud of.

The DDP’s four Michigan board members – former Govs. Jim Blanchard, a Democrat, John Engler, a Republican, former Lt. Gov. John Cherry, a Democrat, and former U.S. Congressman Mike Bishop, a Republican, released the following statement:

“Michigan is a model state with strong election safeguards and capable, dedicated election officials working to ensure free and fair elections. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our state’s election workers and the transparent infrastructure we have in place to ensure our elections are safe and secure, we can all be confident in the elections held on Tuesday in Michigan. We are very encouraged to see Michigan’s election safety and security measures working, and our voters can trust the results of Michigan elections.”
