Democracy Defense Project – Georgia Responds to President Trump’s Comments on Fulton County Ballot Seizure

ATLANTA, GA – In response to President Donald J. Trump’s recent comments on the seizure of ballots in Fulton County, GA, the Democracy Defense Project – Georgia issued the following statement:

“These ballots have been counted, recounted, audited, litigated, re-litigated, and found to be legitimate and legally cast. They were not hidden in secret nor blocked from scrutiny.

“However, the seizure of ballots by the FBI and the wild theories and accusations that followed don’t change the 2020 election results. They simply threaten voter participation in elections to come. Given Georgia’s battleground status, this obsession with the past will likely only undermine victory in the future.”
