DDP Poll: Georgia Republican Primary Voters Confident in Elections as Early Voting Continues

ATLANTA, GA – Early Voting for the May 19th Primary Election in Georgia is underway and a new statewide poll from Democracy Defense Project (DDP) shows Republican primary voters are engaged, focused on economic issues, and broadly confident in the state’s election system.

The survey of likely Republican primary voters finds that 78% are confident their vote will be counted fairly in 2026, reinforcing continued trust in Georgia’s election administration even amid ongoing national debate.

That confidence is paired with a clear preference for keeping elections at the state level, with nearly 68% saying states, not the federal government, should continue to administer elections.

The poll also shows overwhelming support for election integrity policies with 89% support for the SAVE Act, which would require proof of citizenship to register to vote.

Republican voters in Georgia are primarily focused on kitchen table issues, with Inflation and Cost of Living (21.5%), Government Spending (19.4%), and Immigration and Border Security (19.2%) ranking as the top concerns heading into the election.

In the Republican primary for Governor, the race remains competitive:

  • Rick Jackson: 27%
  • Burt Jones: 24%
  • Brad Raffensperger: 12%
  • Chris Carr: 6%

In the U.S. Senate primary, Congressman Mike Collins holds an early advantage:

  • Mike Collins: 30%
  • Derek Dooley: 12%
  • Buddy Carter: 11%
