Phoenix, AZ— Democracy Defense Project Arizona board members Governor Jan Brewer, Congressman Matt Salmon, State Rep. Daniel Hernandez and Yuma County Supervisor Jonathan Lines issued the following statement regarding the Arizona General Election:

“Arizona has once again demonstrated that our elections are some of the most safe and secure in the nation. Last night we witnessed our robust bipartisan system at work. Our dedicated elections officials deserve recognition for their tireless efforts to safeguard our process and ensure the accuracy and transparency of the outcomes.

“Although, as a Board, some of us may hold differing views on the end results of last night’s races, we all agree that Arizona’s system proactively detects, prevents, and addresses issues before they can affect outcomes. The overall success of Arizona’s elections last night should give confidence to Arizonans that our State is upholding democracy the right way.”

DDP Arizona will continue to safeguard the security, accuracy, and transparency of Arizona’s election system. Our Board includes former Governor Jan Brewer, former Congressman Matt Salmon, Yuma County Supervisor Jonathan Lines, and former State Representative Daniel Hernandez.
